James T. Kane is a native of Lexington, Kentucky.  He received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Kentucky and graduated the University of Kentucky College of Law in 2001.

James worked in Hopkinsville, Kentucky for five years before joining the Warren County Attorney's Office.  While in Hopkinsville, he served as an Assistant County Attorney and later became an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney.
